S K NangiaS K Nangia

Mr. S.K.Nangia is retired from State Bank of India having held senior positions in Top Management Grade. After retirement in 2001, he has been devoting his time for community service by associating with various NGOs. He is actively involved in promoting cause of RTI from Maharashtra Right to Information Act 2003 era. He has to his credit various landmark Orders from State Information Commission. He is a Certified RTI Trainer from YASHADA, PUNE. He has been associated with Mahiti Adhikar Manch right from its inception in 2006. He has been holding workshops for imparting Training to citizens and Officials from various Government Institutions including BMC, on effective usage & implementation of RTI. He set up RTI Clinics at various places (PCGT, Mahalaxmi Chambers, Bhulabhai Desai Road, Mumbai 26, GIANTS INTERNATIONAL, Orient Club, Chowpatty Sea Face, Mumbai 07, Indian Merchant Chambers, Churchgate, Mumbai 20) for providing guidance to citizens needing help for filing of RTI Applications / Appeals, all of which continue to operate effectively. Presently, he is available at RTI Clinic at IMC, Churchgate on 1st & 3rd Wednesdays from 4 pm to 6 pm.


AfzalMohammed Afzal

He is a Consumer / Human Right / Right to Information Activist. He has been in the field of Social work since 1979 and now it is the 37th year. I have practically work in all areas except criminalization. He has been a part of several NGOs and represented various N.G.O and Government organizations. He has worked for proper implementation of the Maharashtra as well as Central Right to Information Act, since the inception date. His area of interest is Right to information besides working on Traffic issues, B.M.C Issues, Consumer issues, Public interest litigation and what not since 1979. He had the privilege of identifying defects in Public interest and getting it resolved hand in hand with the various Public authorities. He always believed that god and this country has given us so much and every individual should think for giving something back to the society.

EDUCATION: Commerce graduate from Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics.
BUSINESS: Self Employed: Proprietor of an Electroplating Unit from 1988 – 2000, Proprietor of microcontroller based electronic products since the year 2000 – up to date.
ACTIVISM:Making sincere efforts since 2008 to promote and educate fellow citizens in exercising their invaluable fundamental human right i.e. their right to access information from none other than, their very own Government.Thereby actively participating in my country’s journey from an Opaque to a Transparent Government, Member at Welfare Organisations for Road Safety & Prevention of Accidents (NGO): Worked towards improving the road safety and accident prevention since 2010, Member at online Mumbai Transport Forum:Participating in Mumbai’s Transport infrastructure structure discussions, Made efforts on the issue of Dial 108 for Ambulance, Upgrading the signaling system of Mumbai Suburban Railways, Roads in my locality and Bus Rapid Transit System, by filing applications under the Right to Information Act, 2005
